Edo Deputy Gov, Philip Shaibu Locked Out of Office
THE Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has lamented being denied entry into his office at the Government House on Monday.
Shaibu met a locked gate while trying to gain access to his office today.
AfriqueCan had earlier gathered and reported that the Deputy Governor was moved out of the government house and relocated to another office outside the Government House over a month ago.
Only last week, on Monday September 11, staff of the Deputy Governor, were spotted moving into the new office.
Shaibu has, however, said that he has received no official confirmation to relocate to the said new office.
“I am standing by the gate.
“I have received no official confirmation,” he said over the mobile phone in a video now circulating online.
The latest development follows a series of fallouts between Shaibu and the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki.
Both have been at loggerheads for quite some time, with Shaibu walking out of a state event in August after alleging that his aides and media team were denied entry into the hall were the state Governor was seated among dignitaries.
