FG Wades Into Osimhen, Napoli Saga

THE Federal Government of Nigeria is exploring means of addressing the ongoing feud between Super Eagle, Victor Osimhen and his Italian club side, Napoli.

This was revealed by the Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh, via his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday.

Napoli had posted a video on TikTok days ago mocking Osimhen.

This did not go down well with the Striker, as he proceeded to rid his social media handles of any post relating to Napoli.

Napoli subsequently came out with a statement explaining that the video was not designed to mock the player whom thy claim they hold in high regard.

Enoh, in his reaction, states that his office were making efforts to understand every detail regarding the issue in order to know what steps to take.

“Over the past weekend, the news coming out of Napoli concerning Super Eagles player -Victor Osimhen saddened me greatly. The travails of Tobi Amusan have been no less so—the reason I made efforts to reach her directly last week.

“My office is trying to reach Victor Osimhen directly as well to understand first-hand the issues. We are committed to establishing the facts of the matter,” the Sports Minister said.

Enoh revealed that he was in constant dialogue with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar as well as the Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Italy, Ambassador Mfawa Abam, in order to approach the matter properly.

“Together, we are employing Diplomatic avenues with Italy for a more proper approach to looking into the matter as it is,” Enoh assured.
