Tribunal Sacks Sule, Declares Ombugadu as Gov of Nasarawa

GOVERNOR Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has been relieved of his duty as the number citizen of Nasarawa State.

Sule’s sack was announced on Monday by the Chairman of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, Justice Ezekiel Ajayi.

Ajayi, who declared the tribunal’s judgement virtually, also proclaimed Emmanuel Ombugadu of the People’s Democratic Party – PDP, as the lawfully elected governor of the State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission – INEC had declared Sule the candidate of the All Progressives Congress – APC.

According to the Chairman, Ombugadu provided the results of the various polling units and forms EC 8A and proved to the tribunal that the results were manipulated in favour of the APC.

Ajayi said that based on the proof from the various polling units before the tribunal, Ombugadu had the majority of valid votes at the election.

The tribunal then ordered INEC to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Sule and issue a new one to Ombugadu.
