NLC, TUC Want Imo Police Boss Redeployed, Issue 5-Day Ultimatum
THE Nigeria Labour Congress – NLC, and the Trade Union Congress – TUC, have issued a 5-day ultimatum for the redeployment of the Commissioner of Police in Imo State.
The ultimatum issued on Friday is an apparent response to the attack on the NLC President, Joe Ajaero, in Owerri, the Imo state capital on Thursday.
The Organised Labour also demanded the arrest and prosecution of the Special Adviser to the Imo State governor, Hope Ozodimma, on Special Duties.
The NLC and the TUC however, threatened to embark on a nationwide industrial action if their demands were not carried out.
They accused the Imo State government as well as the police for being responsible for the attack on the NLC leader.
However, in a separate response hours after the Organised Labour issued the ultimatum, both the police and the state government denied all allegations against them in their separate responses on Friday.
