Soludo Terminates Road Contract Over ‘Negligence’
GOVERNOR Charles Soludo of Anambra State has terminated a road contract awarded to NBHH Engineering Company.
Governor Soludo made the announcement when he visited the site of the project on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, citing negligence and delay in delivering nine roads totalling 14.053 km in Okpoko.
“This road was supposed to be finished by June last year. Eight months afterwards, you are yet to complete it. You don’t have the capacity to do the job. The job was supposed to last for nine months and you were adequately mobilised,’’ Soludo said during his visit.
“This is February 20 and you are supposed to have delivered the job. It shows that you are totally incompetent to do the job. After we paid you 50 per cent mobilisation. There is nowhere in the country that 50 percent is paid. Here and here, this contract is terminated.
The Anambra State Governor then instructed the company to evacuate the site, saying ‘’tomorrow we will know who will complete this project.”
