Lagos Announces 24-Hour Closure of Third Mainland Bridge
THE Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos will be closed from 12 noon on Wednesday, February 28 to 12 noon on Thursday, 29, 2024, authorities have announced.
According to a statement on Monday by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the 24 hours total closure is to allow contractors to execute a major aspect of the ongoing repair works on the bridge.
Osiyemi said that the closure will affect both bounds of the carriageways.
He however, advised road users to use alternative routes already provided during this period as the bridge would not be opened to traffic for 24-hours.
The state noted that traffic management officials will be available to manage traffic and minimise inconveniences.
