A faction of the National Union of Road and Transport Workers – NURTW, has taken over the national secretariat of the union.
The Tajudeen Baruwa led faction took the Abuja headquarters of the union in the early hours of Monday.
as members of the faction stormed the union’s headquarters in Abuja.
It will be recalled that the NURTW factions led by Baruwa and Ayinde Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, have been involved in an internal leadership tussle since 2024.
MC Olumo was elected as President of the NURTW in November 2024 however, a court ruled in favor of Baruwa when the dispute led to a lawsuit.
Meanwhile, Olumo has continued to operate as President despite the court ruling.
