THE Department of State Services – DSS, has confirmed taking into custody the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria – CBN, Godwin Emefiele.
The secret police confirmed Emefiele’s arrest in a statement by its Public Relations Officer – PRO, Peter Afunanya, on Saturday.
“The Department of State Services – DSS, hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria – CBN, is now in its custody for some investigative reasons,” it said.
“The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this.”
The DSS had earlier refuted reports that Emefiele was in its custody after a video of the former CBN boss went viral on social media.
