Absence Of Magistrate Halts Assault Hearing Against Seun Kuti
ALTHOUGH, Seun Kuti, his counsel, as well as the prosecution team in the assault case brought by the police against the Afrobeat singer were present at the court on Monday, the case did not hold.
The absence of Chief Magistrate Adeola Olatubosun of the Chief Magistrate Court, Sabo-Yaba area halted proceedings for the day.
Reports say that Chief Magistrate Olatubosun is currently on leave.
Parties in the proceedings however, agreed to return to the court on September 27 when the case is expected to continue.
Magistrate Olatunbosun had adjourned to July 3 to await the legal advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on the matter.
Kuti had earlier been released on bail on May 23 following his detention at the State Criminal Investigative Department, Panti since May 15.
