Akpabio Lands in Aso Rock Over Keyamo’s Screening Threat
THE Senate President, Godswill Akpabior, has been spotted at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock shortly after the Ministerial Nomination of Festus Keyamo was hit a blow.
This comes after a motion was moved to suspend the Ministerial Nomination of Festus Keyamo on Monday.
It was Darlington Nwokocha, a Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, who moved the motion.
Enyinnaya Abaribe, a Senator from Abia-South Senatorial District, subsequently seconded the motion.
Nwokocha’s grouse was the alleged gross disrespect Keyamo showed the Senate in time past.
He also called out Keyamo on grounds of corruption during his capacity as Minister in the old administration.
Nwokocha reminded the House that Festus Keyamo, who served as a Minister of State for Labour and Productivity during ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, had failed to honour the invitation of the Senate to explain issues arising from a Special Public Works programme during that period.
Keyamo’s ministry oversaw the National Directorate of Employment, which, in turn, presided over the said programme.
It remains to be seen what the conversation between Akpabior and the Presidency at Aso Rock yields in regards to Keyamo’s ongoing saga.
