Nigerian Police Arrest Officers Caught Extorting Money In Viral Video
THE Nigerian Police has announced that a number of Police Officers have been apprehended in Osun state for extorting road users.
This was confirmed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi via Twitter on Friday.
Earlier on Friday, a viral video made the rounds capturing officers extorting road users.
Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, along with his entourage, could be seen prevailing on the Police officers to refund the monies they forced the road users to transfer into their bank accounts.
Adejobi has now assured that the erring officers will face severe punishments for their roles in the ugly scenario.
“The Commissioner of Police Osun State, CP Kehinde Longe, has acted on this.
“The officers have been arrested, and necessary action would be taken.
“The PPRO osun has been ordered to update us on the actions taken.
“We have zero tolerance for extortion and corruption in general,” Adejobi stated on Twitter.
