Survey Shows Decline in Tinubu’s Approval Ratings
PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has seen his approval ratings drop from 45% to 35% in the second month of his administration, a survey showed.
The second monthly Presidential satisfaction and governance survey was conducted by the Governance Advancement Initiative for Nigeria (GAIN).
The survey was administered from July 29 to August 6, 2023.
It shows that 35% rated the performance of the President as satisfactory, while 8% rated the President’s performance as “Excellent,” a decline from 15% the last month.
The survey also showed that 11% rated the performance as “Good” (down from 15% the previous month), while 16% rated it as “Average,” a small increase from 15% the last month.
GAIN Coordinator, Dr Malcolm Fabiyi, Nigerians eligible to vote were those targeted by the survey.
Fabiyi explained that the survey is designed to take the pulse of Nigerians as regards the policies and decisions of the Tinubu administration.
Responses were taken from 6 Geopolitical zones in Nigeria, GAIN said.
