Tobi Amusan Begins Tittle Defense With 100m Heat Win

100m hurdles World title holder, Tobi Amusan, began her defence with a straightforward win in her heat at the World Athletics Championships holding in Budapest.

Nigeria’s Amusan clocked a time of 12.48s (0.4) to win the fifth heat ahead of Jamaican Champion, Megan Tapper, who came 2nd in 12.51s and Australia’s Michelle Jenneke, who came 3rf in 12.71s on Tuesday.

Amusan has now qualified for the semi-finals holding on Wednesday.

It would be recalled that Amusan broke the world record in Eugene, Oregon USA, over a year ago.

This was the Record holder’s first race since she was cleared for doping by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).
