ARSENAL we’re forced to a 2-2 draw with London neighbours, Fulham on Saturday.
The game saw both Coaches bag yellow cards as tempers flared at the Emirates stadium in London.
Fulham shocked Arsenal with a Pereira goal inside the 1st minute of kick-off.
It was the wake-up call Arsenal needed as the Gunners came out in search of the equalizer but met a resolute Fulham rearguard.
Fulham had a few chances of theirs to double the lead, but ultimately settled for their 1-0 lead going into the interval.
Arsenal came out charging and soon had a penalty of their own in the 69th minute.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) checked for a possible handball leading up to the goal but completed their check favouring the onfield referee’s decision.
Bukayo Saka stepped up and send former Arsenal Keeper, Bernd Leno, the wrong way to restore parity.
Soon after, the Gunners were at it again, this time, taking the lead through Eddie Nketiah, who tapped in a cross from Vieira.
There appeared to be a foul leading up to the goal as Saka seemed to have pulled Fulham new signing, Calvin Basset to the ground.
The VAR went with the decision of the onfield referee and the goal stood. 2-1 to Arsenal.
An infuriated Marco Silva in the Fulham dugout lashed out at the Referee’s decision and was booked for it amidst the rainfall.
Mikel Arteta had a few complaints of his 8minutes later that also saw him walk his way into the Referee’s book his counterpart before him.
Things went from bad to worse for Fulham as new signee, Bassey, earned a second yellow and an automatic sending off.
Despite the numeric disadvantage, Fulham shocked Arsenal once again to draw the game level. This time, it came through a well worked corner kick routine from the right which was duly converted by Palhinha through a sea of legs in the box.
The 2nd official showed 9mins of official added time that served to gear up the crowd in attendance at the Emirates, with both sides seeking a win in this contest.
Despite the best efforts of both sides, the game ended 2-2, a disappointed Marco Silva heading for the tunnel immediately after the final whistle.
