Wike Reveals Tinubu’s Appointees Selected By PDP Governors
THE Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has sensationally revealed that many appointments made under President Bola Tinubu’s administration were sanctioned by Governors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike made this disclosure on Channels Television during the programme, Politics Today, on Wednesday.
The revelation becomes more notable seeing as the President is under the banner of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former Rivers state Governor also stated that the ruling Party informed all governors of the ruling party, as well as the main opposition party (PDP) during the process of selecting nominees for political positions.
“I never said PDP governors nominated ministers; I never said so.
“I said this (Tinubu) government wrote to all the government of PDP and APC to nominate people for appointment,” Wike said.
“PDP governors nominated people for appointments.
“Appointment is appointment both as Boards and Commissions.
While assuring on the legitimacy of his claims, the vocal politician challenged anyone to counter his claims.
“I challenged anybody who is a governor of PDP that never wrote any letter to this government for so and so people to be appointment under this government.
“Nobody has come to challenge me,” Wike disclosed.
While assuring on his commitment to the success of the Tinubu-led administration in his capacity as FCT minister, Wike, however, insisted that he remained a staunch PDP member with no plan to cross-carpet.
Wike went further to reveal that no member of the opposition PDP was capable of disciplining him, while disclosing that the PDP leadership was well informed of President’s Tinubu’s ministerial offer to him even before he accepted the post.
“Who will discipline me? I should be the one calling for the discipline of these people who violated the party’s constitution, in the way that the party supported rotation.
“Who will suspend me? I want to dare anybody,” Wike stated.
