Morocco Earthquake: Death Toll Rises to 2497
THE death count from Morocco’s recent earthquake has now climbed to 2,497.
This much was disclosed by the country’s interior ministry on Monday.
They explained that a further 2,476 people were left injured.
According to Morocco’s Interior Ministry, it has now accepted aid from Spain, Qatar, Britain and the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E).
As per an estimate by the United Nations (UN), 300,000 people were affected by the magnitude 6.8 quake which occured on Friday night.
The Al Haouz province in the High Atlas Mountains experienced the most fatalities.
Soldiers arrived the town of Amizmiz in trucks on Sunday to aid residents.
Many of the residents have complained about the insufficiency of the aid currently reaching them.
More foreign aid teams are currently waiting on the greenlight from the Moroccan government to proceed, AfriqueCan have also gathered.
