AFRICAN GAMES: Flying Eagles Lose 2-1 to Uganda
NIGERIA started their campaign in the men’s football event at the 13th African Games in Ghana with a 2-1 defeat to Uganda.
Against expectations, the Flying Eagles conceded first in the 34th minute.
The coach Ladan Bosso tutored boys however, battled back to equalise and ended the first half level in the opening Group B match played at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Legion on Thursday night.
Their East African counterparts scored again in the second half to secure the all important first victory of the group stage.
The Flying Eagles now have their destiny in their own hands as they face South Sudan and Senegal in their next two games.
The Nigerians must get results from both games in order to stand a chance of qualifying for the knock-out stage.
