A member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Anyamelum State Constituency, Bernard Udemezue, was almost denied entry into the Assembly complex for getting there in a Keke Napep (Tricycle).
The bizarre incident occurred on Friday last week and has since gone viral on the internet.
In the viral video, the lawmaker could be heard shouting, “Did you give me a car? Have you given me a car? Is it not what I have that I will use? Open this gate jare.”
Honourable Udemezue then instructed the Keke Napep rider to ride into the complex but met resistance from the security guard on duty.
However, after confirming his identity to the guard, through his Identity card, the Lawmaker was granted entry.
AfriqueCan, however, gathered that Udemezue was delayed for a very long time before he was finally granted entry into the complex.
“When the lawmaker arrived at the Assembly Complex in a tricycle, the security personnel at the entrance didn’t recognise him.
“The lawmakers are still new so the security personnel manning the entrance don’t know them yet.
“And they always arrive in cars with tinted glass so that makes it difficult to know them,” an anonymous witness confirmed.
