APC Rejects Nabena’s Remarks on Relocation of NNPCL, NIMASA

THE All Progressives Congress – APC, has rejected and distanced itself from a statement credited to a former National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the party, Yekini Nabena, on the Federal Government’s plans to relocate some subsidiaries from Abuja to Lagos.

Yekini Nabena had called on President Bola Tinubu to approve the relocation of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited – NNPCL, and some others to justify the decision to move some departments of CBN and FAAN out of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

The Bayelsa State chapter of the party, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Doifie Buokoribo, said Nabena spoke for himself.

The party said Nabena did not consult the party nor any state leader of the APC in Bayelsa before making his statement.

“The state chapter has for some time taken note of Mr Yekini’s recent remarks that curiously seem to be at odds with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policy directions.

“The State Chapter affirms that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s time in office so far has yielded the expected results, which are nothing short of excellent and thus his Presidency is one that we boast of as the true ideals of our party are gloriously exhibited.

“As a party, we fully support the President’s policy directions as they are designed to reset the country for economic prosperity, as we warn against any attempts to politicise the sincere efforts of the Federal Government to reset the country.

“We wish to inform the general public that Nabena’s utterances represent only himself, not our party in Bayelsa and our leader.”
