POPULAR Nigerian Singer and People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’ Lagos House of Representatives Candidate, Banky Wellington aka Banky W, has hailed the decision of the Election Petitions Tribunal directing a rerun in the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in Lagos State.
The singer cum politician aired his opinion during a live appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television.
The tribunal had, on Monday, nullified the victory of Labour Party (LP)’s Mr Thaddeus Atta.
The judgment of the tribunal ruled the election as “inconclusive.”
Banky W has now labeled the decision a “miracle.”
“For me personally, it’s a miracle in and of itself that we get another chance to finish the election.
“I think it’s a testament to the power of perseverance, the power of faith, and the collective will of the people who want to participate in the rebuilding of this democracy,” Banky W said.
The Tribunal has now ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a supplementary election within 90 days in the 33 polling units where elections did not take place.
