THE Islamic State’s West Africa Province terrorist group (ISWAP) have clashed with rivals, Boko Haram, in Lake Chad.

This was disclosed by a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama on Saturday.

According to Makama, the clash, which occured at Bakuram on the border of Lake Chad of Marte, saw 100 terrorists die.

The fight between the Bakoura Buduma Boko Haram faction and ISWAP began at noon day on Saturday and is still waging as at news time.

“As we speak now the battle is still ongoing with over 100 of the terrorists killed on both sides,” a source informed the counter-insurgency expert.

An Ex Chief of Operations for the Boko Haram Bakoura group, Abou Idris, who abandoned the group to join ISWAP, is believed to have led the battle.

The retaliation follows after 60 ISWAP fighters and 3 of their Commanders were seized by Boko Haram earlier this week.
