Charly Boy Opens Up on His Cancer Battle
NIGERIAN Singer-Songwriter and Activist, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa aka Charly Boy, has opened up on his battle against prostate cancer while being actively involved in activism in Nigeria.
The TV Presenter, Actor and Publisher, disclosed this in an interview on Nigerian Television station, Arise, on Friday night.
According to Charly Boy, he has been battling prostate cancer for 4yrs now.
He explained that his health concerns did not deter him from being actively involved, with millions of other Nigerians, in numerous protests and rallies against bad governance, social decadence and other prevailing issues plaguing the country.
He reckoned that there were times when he would get back from Chemotherapy and other related treatments only to head straight to protest grounds in agitations that, sometimes, last till dawn.
Charly Boy is a famous supporter of the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.
He also stood in the frontiers of the famed EndSARS protests that took place in Nigeria in October, 2020.
