CHELSEA Saturday succumbed to a shocking home defeat to Nottingham Forest
The Blues lost 0-1 in their week four fixture at Stamford Bridge m.
A well threaded pass from inform striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, was well converted by Elanga, on loan from Manchester United, in the second half to give Forest all 3 points.
The first half ended 0-0 with very few chances from both sides.
Forest forward, Awoniyi, was a handful for Chelsea’s defender Thiago Silva all through.
Bar a few dribbles from Sterling, Chelsea rarely carved out any big chance of note in the half.
The second half couldn’t have started disastrously for Chelsea after Elanga’s goal three minutes after the interval.
Chelsea responded, with Enzo threading a through pass for Chilwell who couldn’t connect in the 53rd.
Sanchez, who reacted slowly for the opening goal, almost cost his team with a terrible throw in the 67th hat was almost intercepted.
Chelsea forward, Jackson, pushed and probed throughout, but always happened to fall over too easily in the box when through on goal.
His terrible day was summed up in the 83rd minute, when Sterling’s cutback met him unmarked, but, with the goal at his mercy, Jackson connived to hit his shot over the crossbar.
That was as close as it got for Chelsea despite the best efforts of substitutes, Mudryk, Madueke and new acquisition from Manchester City, Cole Palmer.
The game ended 0-1, a disappointing loss for new Managers, Mauricio Pochettino.
