CHELSEA beats newly promoted side, Luton Town, 3-0 on Friday night.
A brace from Raheem Sterling and a 1st goal from Nicolas Jackson handed the Blues all 3 points at Stamford Bridge.
It was the kind of start Head Coach, Mauricio Pochettino, would have wanted as his charges went all out from kickoff.
Sterling was lovely from the off and should have given his side the lead in the 7th minute after a freekick eventually fell his path but he shot straight at the Luton Keeper
A Caicedo slip in the 8th minute almost cost his side, but Luton failed to capitalize.
Chelsea came knocking again in the 15th minute, a clever interplayed between Jackson and Chilwell was laid off for Enzo who shot wide.
Chelsea finally went ahead when other Sterling mazy run into the box in the 17th minute ended up in the bottom corner for a goal.
A Disasi error was almost capitalized by Luton in the 27th minute but Levi Colwill was on hand to block the shot on the Chelsea goal.
Chelsea dominated the rest of the half and, despite the half chances Luton had, Pochettino’s side were rarely troubled.
The second half started more or the same for Chelsea and they soon had a Chilwell cross blocked before reaching Sterling in the 50th minute.
Jackson shot again on target in the 51st minute hit his effort was well saved by the Luton goalie l.
Another Jackson effort was blocked in the 54th.
Chelsea launched a counter a minute later, Sterling whipping in a cross but Enzo being denied by the Luton Keeper.
Luton knocked on the Chelsea goal in the 61st minute but Ryan Giles’ shot was tame and straight at Sanchez.
Chelsea almost punished Luton again, after Sterling, in the 66th minute teed up Jackson for a 1v1 but he scuffed his shot wide.
Chelsea them took a 2-0 lead in the 68th minute, Caicedo moving the ball to Gusto out wide who’s cross was finished by Sterling.
Enzo then saw his freekick go wide in the 72nd minute, Luton having a freekick of their wide in similar fashion 2minutes later.
Nicolas Jackson eventually opened his goals account when, in the 75th minute, he connected well with a deflected cross from Sterling to put Chelsea 3-0.
Chelsea maintained their dominance but only came close against through Gallagher in the 84th minute, but he didn’t properly connect to a Chilwell cross.
Chelsea saw out the closing embers of the match to bag their first 3points of the season and a convincing 3-0 lead.
