Chelsea Unveils Caicedo

Chelsea Football Club have announced the signing of midfielder, Moises Caicedo, from Brighton.

The club broke the news late Monday evening on their official website.

“Chelsea is delighted to announce the signing of Ecuador international Moises Caicedo,” the club announced.

Moises Caicedo joins on a British record fee of £115m.

The player described the move as a “dream come true” while stressing his impatience to hit the ground running.

“I am so happy to join Chelsea! I am so excited to be here at this big club and I didn’t have to think twice when Chelsea called me.

“I just knew I wanted to sign for this club, Chelsea.

“It’s a dream come true to be here and I can’t wait,” Caicedo said.

Co-sporting directors of Chelsea, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, also had glowing remarks.

“Moises has proved himself as a standout player in European football over the past 18 months, and we are thrilled to add him to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

“Moises possesses a rare midfield skill set and is a player we’ve been targeting for some time.

“We believe he will make a significant impact at Stamford Bridge this season – and in the years ahead,” they stated.

Chelsea had to sweat to get a deal for the Ecuadorian over the line after Liverpool initially hijacked it with a British record fee of £110m.

The preference of the player came into play as Caicedo stated unequivocally his love for Chelsea.

Brighton, however, made sure to insert a sell-on clause into the deal.
