Coco Gauff Wins US Open, Humbles Sabalenka in Final

WORLD No.2, Aryana Sabalenka, bowed to Cori Dionne “Coco” Gauff, in the US Open Final on Saturday.

Gauff put in a master class to outclass Sabalenka in a keenly contested face-off at the Arthur Ashe stadium, Flushing, Ney York, U.S.A.

The Belarusian actually took the first set 2-6 against the American Gauff.

Gauff, however, came from a set down to down her foe 6-3, 6-2, in the next two sets to claim victory.

Gauff, ranked World No. 4, was applauded by the crowd after her showmanship in a game that might have gone the other way bar her perseverance and persistent, serve after serve.

The American winner turned professional in 2018.

Prior to today’s win, she has no grand slam victory to her name.
