Court Considering More Sanctions on La Liga Chief, Rubiales

SPAIN’S top sports court (TAD) are set to meet on Monday to allegations of him forcefully kissing Spanish player, Jenni Hermoso, at the just concluded Women’s World Cup.

Rubiales has already been suspended for 90 days by the Federation of International Football Federation (FIFA) on Saturday.

The Spanish government could now possibly hand down more sanctions on the 46yr old if they receive the green lights from the top sports Court.

“If the court upholds the complaint and begins to process that case, we can request the provisional suspension of the president of the RFEF (the football federation) until TAD finishes analysing it and takes their decision,” Sports Minister, Miquel Iceta, stated on Friday.

Spain defeated England in the Final of the Women’s World Cup in Sydney, Australia earlier this month.

The kissing incident occured shortly before Spain lifted the trophy.

The Football Chief said the kiss was “consensual,” while the player said the opposite.

“I felt vulnerable and a victim of an assault, an impulsive, macho act, out of place and with no type of consent on my part,” Hermoso said on the incident.

After the reluctance of Rubiales to resign from office, 81 female footballers began a strike.
