EFCC Arrests 23 “Yahoo Boys” in Benue

THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 23 persons suspected to be involved in internet fraud, also known as “Yahoo Boys.”

The arrest was carried out by oeratives of its Makurdi Zonal Command on Sunday.

In a statement issued by the Anti-Graft agency, the suspects were arrested in the state’s capital, Makurdi.

“The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded,” EFCC said.

EFCC revealed the suspect’s names as: David Uvaa, Patrick Adakole, Cyprian Aloo, Michael Anaambe, Okti Clinton, Ibi Raphael, Anaambe George, Msaasha John, Oche Edache, Anaker Terpase, Tanko Japhet, Ayalgo Lorfa, Success Terzungwe, Suursuter Isaiah, Lawani Peter, Paul Adewa, Jacob Paul, Ibi Shedrack, Iorkosu Michael, Shiedu Leonard, Terseer Mnenge, Ikyorna Raphael and Igba Ngutor.

The Commission further revealed that the following were recovered upon their arrest: 1 Toyota Corolla car and different brands of mobile phones.
