A Nigerian man based in Europe has been killed by gunmen in Benin City, Edo State.
The Edo State Police Command confirmed the incident on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 in Benin City.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Command, CSP Moses Yamu, investigation is on going to arrest the perpetrators.
Reports say the incident happened at the weekend in Igun street in Benin City.
The deceased, identified as Derrick, was reportedly shot to death after he allegedly resisted the attempt to steal his gold necklace valued at N50 million.
Derrick was said to be at the crime scene at Igun street to buy spare-parts for his vehicle.
