TWO Nigerian artistes, Folarin Falana, also known as ‘Falz the bad guy’ and his colleague, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, known as Vector, have expressed their views about the 2023 elections through music.
‘Yakubu’, the last name of the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission – INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yabuk, is the title of the duo’s latest album.
Falz and Vector used the music to express their displeasure over the manner the recently concluded general elections in Nigeria were conducted under the leadership of Prof. Yabuku.
It must be said however, that the singers were not alone in condemning the 2023 elections, which the majority of foreign observers as well as their local counterparts also faulted.
Critics cited electoral malpractice, violence and lack of transparency as well as faulty voting equipment.
Folarin and Olanrewaju also called out political parties that were allegedly involved in electoral malpractices.
