THE Ministry of Works has announced that the reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan will be completed by the middle of September.
The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, made this known on Tuesday via a statement issued while visiting sites of completed and ongoing Federal Government projects in Lagos State.
The construction work which began many years back is ongoing on the last stretch of both sides of the expressway after many deadlines for completion were missed.
The Minister started his inspector tour at outer Marina Road, in Victoria Island, a project constructed under the SUKUK financing option by the Federal Government.
Umahi went on to view the newly reconstructed Eko Bridge, before moving to Ijora Olopa, the Lagoon section of Eko Bridge and Apapa.
Officials of the ministry and contractors handling several projects there briefed the Minister on ongoings.
The Minister, as at news time, is also billed to inspect the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the rehabilitated Apapa Oshodi expressway, the Deep Sea Ports, and other Federal Government projects on the Lagos and Ogun corridor.
The Ministry of Works and Housing revealed that a total of 8,352.94km of roads were constructed or rehabilitated between 2016 and 2022 towards the end of the previous administration.
