GABON COUP: Ousted President Bongo’s Cousin is Coup Leader
GABONESE President, Ali Bongo, was ousted from office shortly after he was declared as winner of the recently concluded election on Wednesday.
He was deposed in a coup by the military junta in the Central African country.
The identify of the army personnel behind the coup has been revealed as ‘Brice Oligui Nguema.’
Reports across the country say that he is the cousin to the deposed President, a fact AfriqueCan is still verifying.
Following the coup, Bongo, has been placed on house arrest.
In a video making the rounds and reported by this media, the deposed leader called for help while stating that his son and wife are being detained separately.
