FORMER SPEAKER, Femi Gbajabiamila has resigned from the House of Representatives to take up his role as Chief of Staff to the president Bola Tinubu.
Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas presented the resignation letter after it was presented to the house.
Gbajabiamila had to step down as Speaker to enable him to focus on the tasks as Chief of Staff to the President.
Gbajabiamila was inaugurated alongside his colleagues on Tuesday and had voted as well for the leadership of the House.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission – INEC, will have to conduct a fresh election to fill the role of the new Chief of staff, who represented Surulere 1 prior to his resignation at the House.
