GOVERNOR Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has visited communities affected by recent attacks, assuring residents that security will be strengthened in vulnerable areas.
Several people were killed during the deadly attack in Akure North Local Government Area.
According to a statement by the Ondo State Government, the governor visited Imafon, Igushin and Ilado communities following reports of the attacks.
Aiyedatiwa, who condemned the killings however, disclosed that more than 100 suspected kidnappers have been arrested as part of ongoing security operations.
He noted that security agencies are working with local hunters and vigilante groups to track down criminal elements hiding in forest areas.
The governor also revealed that his administration plans to establish Amotekun posts and strengthen security presence across vulnerable locations.
