Gov Umaru Bago Promises Extra Vehicles To Security Agencies in Niger

The Governor of Niger state, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has pledged to donate additional Gun Trucks, Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) and other operational vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in the state to aid their fight against crime.

Governor Bago made this vow during the commissioning of the new Police Divisional Headquarters, Chanchaga, under the Niger State Command.

The Government of Niger state donated the structure to the Nigeria Police after its original structure was demolished.

The old structure sat on a water pipeline and denied at least 200 households access to water.

Bago assured citizens on security, stating that his administration will take every necessary step to ensure this.

The Governor lauded the Police while, also, calling on the presence of more of its personnel in its bid to fish out criminal elements in the state.

Bago also assured the widows of fallen security agents that help was on its way.

While charging security agents to be more dynamic in the discharge of their duties, he encouraged citizens to always share information with security agencies regarding any strange happenings around them.

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Ogundele Ayodeji, in turn, hailed the Niger state government for the new edifice and promised that the Force will do more in the discharge of its duties.

Ayodeji commended the pledge of operational vehicles by the Governor, while stressing the importance of proper equipment in the fight against crime.

The Commissioner then called for more support for the Police Force in its bid to secure lives and properties.
