How to Deal With Your Cheating Husband…By Bolatito Adebayo

“I hate my husband.  We were both high school sweethearts, he was the first and only guy I have been with. We have been married for 10 years. But he has been a serial cheat and I am tired of treating STDs.  I am conflicted because my mother said all men cheat. She said I should ignore it and stay. But I want out!”

“All men cheat” Is a completely false statement. Some men have integrity with a solid moral compass. It is so unfortunate that this statement is coming from the victim’s mother who should know better and I don’t blame her. Aren’t we all products of our environment?

Was Mama not informed about the bouts of STDs?

I think it would have been better if she had advised her to go with her husband for marriage counselling than for her to just ignore it. You don’t ignore a cheating partner! It is risky a game. A cheating spouse not only exposes you to diseases but also lay you bare to an unknown enemy. Imagine a stranger knowing so much about you while you know little or nothing.

If your husband is a serial cheat you can imagine how many women are stalking you on social media. Oh, you never thought about that? Now you know! Yes, if your husband has 1-2-3-4-5-6 girlfriends, dear wife you better start watching your back. No! I don’t mean to frighten you but that’s the truth.

Honestly, it is so sad that you love a man and what he does in return is expose you to women who hate you because you are married to him and as if that isn’t enough he blesses you with STDs and probably HIV/AIDS.

So, if you still want to stay with your cheating partner regardless of these risks and the psychological trauma of knowing your husband has been with other women, here are things you can do.  Try out marriage counselling, it helps dig out a lot of unspoken messes in a marriage. If that doesn’t work insist he gets tested in a hospital of your choice and if he disagrees he should wear a condom.

But if all of the above doesn’t work; declare war in the bedroom; no sex! I am saying this with my full chest. A stray dog has no entitlement to a private area.
