THE cyclist representing Nigeria at the 2024 Olympics, says she had to borrow a bicycle from her German counterpart to participate in the Keirin and Sprint www.AfriqueCAN.com
Ese Ukpeseraye revealed this in a post on her X page on Thursday.
“Due to the short notice of me competing at the Keirin & Sprint, #teamNigeria I had no bicycle to race with on the tracks.
“In d spirit of sportsmanship, the German team @bunddeutscherradfahr came to my rescue by offering me a bicycle.
“Thank you,” Ukpeseraye wrote.
It will be recalled that another athlete, Favour Ofili, had taken to social media to express her displeasure after she was not registered for the 100m women’s sprint.
Ofili eventually ran in the 200m, where she finished in sixth place in the final.
