KANO State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has directed all his 19 commissioner-nominees to declare their assets before their screening by the House of Assembly.
In a communique on Wednesday, Governor Yusuf said the directive was to comply with the directive of the Code of Conduct Bureau, threatening that any of the nominees who refused to declare their assets would not be sworn in.
“All other political appointees under this administration shall also comply with the directive accordingly,” the governor said in the communique.
Governor Yusuf reiterated his commitment to the people of the state, promising that transparency and accountability remained the basic principles of his administration.
The screening earlier scheduled for Wednesday June 21 was postponed till Thursday June 22 to allow nominees to declare their assets.
