Kano Govt Takes 10,000 Workers Employed by Ganduje Off State Payroll
OVER ten thousand workers employed by the immediate past administration will no longer receive salaries following an order by the state Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
They were allegedly employed illegally by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The Accountant General, Abdulkadir Abdusalam, told journalists in Kano on Monday, that in all, 10,800 civil servants will be affected by Governor Yusuf’s directive.
Abdulsalam said that his office would carry out an investigation to find out the genuineness of their engagement and procedures so as to remove those illegally recruited from the payroll.
The Accountant General said local government staff, who were converted to state workers by the former administration, would continue to receive their salaries.
