Kanu Vows to Restore Peace to South-east in Two Minutes
AFRIQUECAN: LEADER of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra – IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, says only he can put an end to the insecurity in the South East.
Kanu told journalists after he was denied bail by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja on Tuesday, that he will only need two minutes to end the unrest, if released from detention.
“Who’s the idiot that can alter my orders in the South East? Nobody can. I Nnamdi Kanu, let me come out of this nonsense, and in two minutes, there will be peace in the South East,” Kanu said.
The embattled IPOB leader accused some unnamed ‘’government’’ officials of ‘making’ money from the unrest.
“I suspect that some people in the government are complicit. They are making money with this insecurity’’.
Earlier, Justice Binta Nyako had declined Kanu’s application for bail.
The judge, however, held that the court would only grant an accelerated hearing in the matter and ordered the prosecution to call its first witness.
