Kidnapped Commissioner Regains Freedom in Benue
THE kidnapped Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism in Benue State, Matthew Abo, has been set free.
Abo was abducted over a week ago in Sankera, Ukum Local Government Area of the state.
The news of his freedom was made public through a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Tersoo Kula on Thursday .
According to the statement, the commissioner has reunited with his family.
No ransom or monetary exchange was involved in securing his release, according to the statement.
However, said that former Chairman of Ukum LGA, Washima Erukaa and his cousin who were kidnapped after reportedly going to negotiate with the abductors are still being held hostage by the criminal.
