Kogi Central Tribunal Declares Natasha Winner, Nullifies APC’s Victory
THE Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal has nullified the victory of the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Abubakar Ohere, as the winner of the Kogi Central Senatorial Election.
The Tribunal chaired by Justice K. A. Orjiako made this ruling on Wednesday.
The Tribunal, therefore, declared Natasha Akpoti-Uduagan, as the rightful winner of the February senatorial election.
The judgment reached by the unanimous decision of a three-man panel held that the results of Ohere were inflated in nine polling units of Ajaokuta Local Government Area (LGA).
The panel also agreed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) intentionally deducted the votes of Natasha in the said areas.
It further held results in three other polling units was deliberately not entered for Natasha in the same LGA.
The Tribunal, on this premise, declared Natasha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the rightful winner of the poll having polled 54,074 against Ohere (APC) who polled 51,291.
