Lagos Police Identify Officer Caught Demanding Bribes in Viral Video
THE Lagos State Police Command has identified an officer captured on video demanding bribes from a motorist.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, identified the officer as ASP Luka Bashayi.
Hundeyin said that investigation into the matter has already commenced.
“We will not gloss over this. He is ASP Luka Bashayi, serving at Ogudu Area Command.
“The Lagos Police Complaint Unit, CRU, has commenced actions on this,” the police image maker said.
In a video which went viral on Saturday, the police officer was seen demanding bribes from a motorist.
The officer insisted that the motorist would not leave unless he paid him the demanded bribe.
He said to the motorist, “Do sharp sharp and go now, if not, I will do my job.”
He called out his bank account details to the motorist for him to transfer money, before he would allow him to go on his way.
