Man City Defeat West Ham in Fierce EPL Clash

MANCHESTER City defeated a stubborn West Ham outfit 3-1 in a keenly contested English Premier League (EPL) tie on Saturday afternoon.

The game was far from easy for the reigning Champions as they had to come back from a goal down to win at the London Stadium.

It was chances galore in the first half, with both Man City’s Erling Haaland and West Ham’s Nayef Aguerd, missing glorious chances in the space of 2minutes early on.

West Ham eventually got the breakthrough in the 36th minute through midfielder, James Ward-Prowse, despite enormous pressure from Man City.

The Hammers saw out the first half, taking a 1-0 into the break.

A determined Man City side wasted no time in getting the equalizer their performance deserved when, a minute after the restart, new signing, Jeremy Doku, scored, Julian Alvarez acting as the provider.

Pep Guardiola’s charges could sniff their prey backing off and, thus, piled on the pressure, Erling Haaland trying his luck with a spectacular bicycle kick which was saved by Alphonse Areola in goal for West Ham.

As the match wore on, it only looked like one team was going to win the game as City hit the West Ham goal with a series of attacks unending.

The West Ham defence yielded eventually, with Julian Alvarez creating, once again, this time, for Bernardo Silva in the 76th minute.

Bernardo Silva moved from goal scorer to creator in the 86th minute, with deadly striker, Erling Haaland, arriving the goals party with one of his own.

The game ended 3-1 to Man City. A hard fought victory and three solid points in their quest to dedend their EPL title.
