Man City Defeat Sevilla To Lift UEFA Super Cup

English Champions have lifted the 2023 UEFA Super Cup after defeating Sevilla in the final.

City won on penalties after playing a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

City were without their Creator-in-Chief, Kevin De Bryune, and it surely tool its toll on red hot forward, Erling Haaland.

Despite City dominating the Lion’s share of the possession, Sevilla took the lead in the 25th minute of the first half after striker, Youssef En-Nesyri, rose above City defenders, Ake and Gvardiol, nod a cross from Marcos Acuna.

City had chances to equalize, but Sevilla held on to their 1-0 lead going into the break.

The second half started with more or the same form Pep Guardiola’s Man City as they went in search of the equalizer.

City continued their dominance but were restricted to half chances by a dodged Sevilla.

The winner almost came for City when defender, Nathan Ake, I’m the 1st minute of stoppage time, also connected with a cross, but Bono was there to parry it doe a corner kick.

A minute later, Kyle Walker tried a shit from long range, which narrowly flew over the bar.

The tie ended 1-1 and, following changes to the rules, rather than head into Extra-time, the game went straight to penalties.

Following Gudelj’s miss, Pep Guardiola and the rest of the City bench and players went into feats fo jubilation as the result meant they lift this year’s UEFA Super Cup.
