OYO State Governor, Seyi Makinde’s integrity appears to have been put to test by a top member of the Peoples Democratic Party – PDP, Senator Dino Melaye.
It will be recalled that Governor Makinde supported the campaign bid of President Bola Tinubu – a member of the All Progressives Congress – APC.
Speaking on Saturday at a retreat for PDP elected officials in Bauchi State, Governor Makinde urged party members to focus on things that will unite them.
“We went through a gruelling election and whether we want to admit it or not, we had issues amongst ourselves during the election, but you know what? …
“The healing process will have to start and the healing process will start now,’’ Makinde said.
In an apparent response to the Oyo State Governor’s plea during the question-and-answer session of the event, Melaye redirected Makinde’s words to him, asking the former G5 member to support Atiku Abubakar’s claim that the election process was compromised.
Melaye pointed out that Makinde’s voice in regards to claims that the 2023 Presidential elections were rigged in favour of Tinubu “will show that the healing has truly started.”
