NIGERIAN Actress, Didi Ekanem, has criticized Mavin Records Artiste, Rema, over his tribute to Rapper, Oladimeji Aloba aka Mohbad.
Mohbad passed away in controversial circumstances on Tuesday September 12, 2023.
Rema weighed in with a tribute of his to the late Rapper.
The Actress annoyance stemmed from the fact that Mohbad had sent Rema a private Direct Message (DM) on social media before his death, one the Singer claimed he “never saw.”
“No one deserves to go like this. I’m hurt I never saw your DM.
“You wrote ‘Peace of Mind’ was your favourite song. Now it’s too late to write you back.
“God’s Angels be with you. Rest well, King,” Rema wrote in his tribute to Mohbad.
This has not gone down well with Ekanem, who feels that if it were to be a DM from foreign Artiste, Selena Gomez, Rema would have responded to it instantly.
“No be only ‘I never saw your DM.
“…. But you saw Selena’s DM. You try,” Ekanem criticized.
The death of Mohbad has received widespread sympathy, with many even calling for a protest so justice can be served to those who allegedly killed the Rapper.
Two persons have been alleged to be involved in Mohbad’s death: His former Marlian Records label Boss, Naira Marley and his ally, Sam Larry.
The Nigerian Police Force has promised to begin a probe into the death of Mohbad.
