When a movie wants to be a lot of things at the same time, it ends up in a tangle.
Her love lies is the story of a preacher’s daughter who found herself pregnant and was thrown out by her father.
The movie started on a terrific path but got lost somewhere and found its way back on track.
Imagine starting a film off with veterans like Sam Dede and Tina Mba, and along the line, some “oyibo” characters were infused in and they just dropped my morale with their inexperienced acting.
Even though Omowunmi Dada appears off, her role came off as being exaggerated in this movie. I understand her character is the free-spirited bubbly friend.
Nevertheless, I wasn’t even pleased with her character interpretation. She was overly emotional and overdramatic in the film.
Moyo Lawal wowed me! She stole the show and though her scene is brief, she is a stunner.
I won’t forget to mention, little Angel Unigwe who played Nora, her role is commendable. She even did better than some adults in the movie.
The dialogue is great, the pictures are near perfect, the audio is fantastic, and the first soundtrack at the beginning gave me butterflies.
The interesting thing is that I became quite emotional when I saw the last scene…and yes, I shed a few tears. Chimnoram.
Tope Oshin’s Love lies here is a fairly good one after her long hiatus from movie-making and we will be expecting more soon.
Love Lies Here is streaming on Netflix.
