The choice of movies Jim Iyke is starring in these days might affect his ratings. I have seen him in Bad Comment and now in the Passport and I am beginning to feel I should stop watching any movie he is acting in.
For a while now, it has been misstep, after misstep for Jim Iyke and the great Jim Iyke has gradually been demystified.
Don’t get me wrong. This has got nothing wrong with his talent, Jim Iyke is still a great actor but my grievance with him is that some movie script is just beneath him…
The Passport is a movie that should have been good because the acting is impeccable, however, it is not possible to have a good movie with a bad plot.
Yea, I know it is a comedy but that doesn’t mean it should be devoid of originality and poorly conceived.
As I clicked on The Passport, I was getting ready to be blown off with the likes of Mercy Johnson, Jide Kosoko and Zubby Micheal but my expectations were cut short and I began to question why I was watching it in the first place.
Watching Mercy Johnson and Zubby Micheal in this movie serves as a painful reminder on how fantastic the duo is as actors when given the right script.
The Passport isn’t a total failure because it can boast of a few unexpected touching moments laced with some hilarious scenes and I love the setting too. Nevertheless, The Passport didn’t impress me.
Maybe if the movie had been made into Instagram skits, it would have rubbed on me better.
Nonetheless, The Passport is an unforgettable mess, you should miss it if you can.
