MOVIE REVIEW: The Stand Up: An Entirely Laugh Free Comedy

By Bolatito Adebayo
There is nothing as painful as sitting for about two hours watching a failed comedy. you don’t want to be in that shoe. If I was given an opportunity to give this movie a title, I would call it “Just Stay Away.”
This movie would either put you to sleep or make you hiss throughout. The story is about an upcoming comedian whose father left a debt and his sister is being used as a sort of ransom to get him to pay his father’s debt.
The Stand-Up plot has no plot, dialogue is zero and it is the most hideous movie I have seen in recent times. The acting is bad and all the characters were reduced to primary two pupils struggling to act at the end of year school party play.

Yea, and that includes RMD, honestly, this movie is a smear to his brand. I am a big fan of RMD but seeing him on that set made me cringe.
I know I have said it countless times, that I was done with Ayo Makun’s movies, but I didn’t even know he was in the movie until I saw him there. His acting made things worse!
The Stand Up is overly dumb, misguided and its many ugly moments succeeded in leaving a bad taste in the audience’s mouth.
